We built our first house in Keilor Downs, and after 3 years moved to a rural area in South Gisborne to experience the country and abundant wildlife. We both worked fulltime & decided we needed a holiday. We visited Mallacoota for the first time & fell in love with its beauty, relaxed lifestyle and have lived here since 2006.
We both have a deep passion, love and respect for Australia, its raw beauty and wildlife. Landscape design & construction have been my passion for many years. I love to create Australian native habitat gardens with logs, rocks & ponds to provide a place of solitude where we can coexist with nature and the local wildlife. By interacting so closely with some of our native wildlife, I have experienced firsthand that they do get to know who you are! It’s an exciting & satisfying experience to be accepted into their world. In time, a sense of trust can exist between the birds, lizards, wildlife and us – they are a lot smarter than you think!
I played with film photography on and off, but being very busy at work had little time to spare – how fast time has passed! On my 63rd birthday I purchased my first digital camera – a Nikon D800e. Eighteen months later, it’s become an obsession of mine. It is amazing how observant you become; clouds, reflections, moon cycles, the colour of light unique to each location and time of day. I’m in & out of bed all night checking the weather, sky & moon, heading off at 3 or 4 in the morning. I don’t want to miss an opportunity to capture a great picture. Despite my passion for photography and wildlife, my true love Mariska says “yes, we are still together & I love to see the images, when he returns for a late breakfast”!
Images have a profound power to evoke emotion and draw up memories. I love to capture the beauty all around us from the widest panorama to the smallest of creatures that live and function in this beautiful landscape to make it a whole. To be able to display these via photography is my passion; to capture and display these for all to see is my goal.
I hope the feel of the moment can be felt by you so everyone can appreciate what an amazing country we live in. Every day I strive to learn a little more so that I can portray these images to you a little better. I am truly grateful to be able to live in such a wonderful place and be surrounded by love and abundant life. I hope that in some small way I may be able to share that with you.free grammar check online
